Temptations

Temptation is something that every individual in the world has to deal with. The infant baby can’t resist the temptation to scratch himself. The elderly person can’t resist the temptation of speaking their mind. Everybody is tempted with something, there is no exemption clause.

Matthew 6:12-14. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Jesus was so concerned about temptation, that he included it in his model prayer for his disciples. His plea …And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, should be a daily request from all of us.

Yield not to temptation, for yielding is sin; Each vict’ry will help you some other to win; Fight manfully onward, dark passions subdue; Look ever to Jesus, He’ll carry you through. ….Horatio H Palmer

Horatio wrote the above lyrics with the reality that yielding to temptation is sin. However, each time you

win the battle of not yielding, you actually help someone else.
