Handle it God’s Way

Matthew 10:16. Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Jesus was adamant about his sheep’s behavior. He used the analogy of the wolf and the sheep. In reality the sheep can never compete with the wolf, it will suffer defeat every time. So Jesus used another set of analogies, the serpent and the dove. He wants his followers to be able to discern the next move of the persecutor and strategically prepare. However, at the same time, he wants his followers to delete retaliation as a possible solution.
