The Contents of Your Character
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has influenced the lives of millions across the globe. We all can recite parts if not all of his "I Have A Dream" message. Within his speech we find these words. ..."they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character". Your skin can be stereotyped but it is hard to deny ones character!
The question for today is, what are the contents of your character? You cannot judge the book by the cover you have to read it and then come to a conclusion. The people in your life who don't understand you fail to explore the contents of your character.
John 14:6-8 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
Had the disciples really taken the time to explore the character of Jesus and not spent so much time dwelling on what's in it for me, they would have known this. Jesus made the connection to the father based on his character and it went right over their heads.
The synoptic gospel writer at another time said, "And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matt 16:16).
It is good when your can demonstrate your Christian Characters but it is better when others can identify them!
