6th Last Words of Jesus

6th Last Words of Jesus

For those of us who can speak, we must never forget that it is a miracle and a blessing from God to do so. So many things play a part in our ability to speak; hearing, smelling, listening, oxygen, blood, sight, etc. Jesus spoke to the criminal on the cross at the height of his crucifixion.

Luke 23:43 “And Jesus said unto him, verily I say unto thee, today shalt thou be with me in paradise”.

Lets look at this exegetically, we have two thieves at the point of death and one Messiah with his anointing. One malefactor railed on him by questioning his divinity. The other looked beyond the blood and discovered The Christ, acknowledged/confessed his sins and asked to be remembered. Jesus instead gave him assurance that, he a sinner saved by grace, will spend eternity in paradise.

Lesson learned: Whenever we open our mouth to speak about the gospel of Jesus, not all but, somebody will recognize the spirit of the Lord within us and make a confession for salvation.
