What's Your Gift?
A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men. Proverbs 18:16
Human beings are intelligent creatures made by God himself. We are talented, blessed and gifted. Each of us are unique in our own way; some of us can sing, some are athletic, some have a charm of beauty, while others may be great orators. Regardless of our gift, we should use it to make a positive difference in this world and not be selfish with what we have been given.
This week the nation and the NBA family mourn the death of a great basketball athlete in the person of #8, #24 Kobe Bryant. Kobe posted some very impressive numbers on and off the court. NBA champion, MVP, Season Scoring title, 81 point game, 60 points in his final game, Olympic Gold metal, 4th overall total points scored, and the list goes on and on!
There are two things that I would like to highlight about Kobe;
1) He knew what his gift was.
2) Once identified he perfected his gift.
Kobe's gift was his athleticism and knowledge of the game of basketball. Then after he identified his gift he began to perfect his craft. He worked hard to be the best that he could possibility be, he gave it his all.
Have you identified your gift from the Lord and most importantly what are you doing to sharpen what you have been given. Once we perfect our craft of gift, we will enjoy using it for the glory of God.
You territory cannot be enlarged if you are not ready for it!
Lord I pray that each of us bring you glory by being satisfied with the gift that you gave us and use it towards kingdom building. Amen!
